In particolare:

asse di conio: 12
tipologia della lega metallica: argento
valutazione della presenza di materiale ferroso nel tondello, da accertare per mezzo di una calamita: con la calamita non si sente alcuna attrazione.

Descrizione sommaria (sono indicate in rosso le parti della leggenda usurate o comunque non più leggibili):
D.Testa elmata di Roma a destra; dietro, segno di controllo². Bordo perlinato.
R. Vittoria in biga a destra, redini in entrambe le mani; sopra segno di controllo³. In esergo D·SILANVS·L·F·⁴; sotto ROMA. Bordo perlinato.

Traduction revers: “Decimus [Iunius] Silanus Lucii Filius”, (Decimus Junius Silanus fils de Lucius). Commentaire à propos de cet exemplaire: Pour ce type, M. Crawford a relevé une estimation de 597 coins de droit et de 663 coins de revers ce qui donne une estimation comprise entre un et deux millions de deniers frappés originellement. Historique: En 91 avant J.-C., Lucius Marcius Philippus et Sextus Julius Cوsar sont consuls. Le tribun, Marcus Livius Drusus propose de réformer la loi électorale en faveur des alliés (statut de citoyen). L'assassinat de Drusus provoque une réaction brutale qui entraîne le massacre de Romains à Asculum et enflamme les alliés italiens, c'est le début de la guerre Sociale (91-88 avant J.-C.).

Concludo osservando che le caratteristiche fisiche, generali e di stile della moneta non si discostano da quelle delle monete d'epoca di pari tipologia reperite nel web. Nel presente stato di conservazione la moneta, se autentica, vale, a mio avviso, una quarantina di euro.

Dai segni di controllo utilizzati, il Crawford ha stimato l'esistenza di 597 conii del diritto e 663 conii del rovescio, che danno luogo ad una stima di uno o due milioni di pezzi battuti.
(4) D·SILANVS·L·F· (Decimus [Iunius] Silanus Lucii Filius” - Decimo Junio Silano figlio di Lucio). Indizi desumibili da un altro denario dello stesso monetiere indicano la discendenza di quest'ultimo da un D. Iunius Silanus, Pretore nel 141, che era nato da Manlius Torquatus.
