Tiberius, whose full name was Tiberius Caesar Augustus, was a Roman emperor who ruled from AD 14-37. He was born in 42 BC in Rome, and he came from a prominent political family. Tiberius was the stepson of Emperor Augustus and served as a military commander before ascending to the throne. He succeeded Augustus as the second Roman emperor after Augustus' death. As emperor, Tiberius sought to maintain the stability and prosperity of the Roman Empire. He implemented administrative reforms and focused on maintaining a strong and disciplined Roman army. However, Tiberius' reign was marked by controversies and political intrigue. He was known for his suspicion of the Roman Senate and his distance from the Roman people. His relationship with the Senate and the ruling elite was often strained, leading to accusations of tyranny and repression. Tiberius withdrew to the island of Capri during the later years of his reign, leaving the administration of the empire to others. His retreat from Rome led to further criticisms and rumors about his behavior and intentions. Tiberius died in AD 37, and was succeeded by his grandnephew Caligula as the next Roman emperor. Concludo osservando che le caratteristiche generali e di stile della moneta non si discostano da quelle delle monete d'epoca di pari tipologia. Mancano le caratteristiche fisiche e non è possibile un esame comparativo con le monete autentiche del periodo. Nel presente stato di conservazione la moneta, se autentica, vale, a mio avviso, una cinquantina di euro.

Non essendo disponibili dati sulle caratteristiche fisiche della moneta in esame non sarà possibile svolgere un esame comparativo con le monete autentiche reperite nel web.
(2) TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST IMP VIII. (TIberius CAESAR DIVI AVGusti Filius IMPerator VIII - Tiberio, Cesare, figlio del divino Augusto, acclamato per l'ottava volta). Tiberio, il cui nome completo era Tiberio Cesare Augusto, regnò dal 14 al 37 d.C.. Nato a Roma nel 42 a.C. da una famiglia politica di spicco, era il figliastro dell'imperatore Augusto e servì come comandante militare prima dell'ascesa. Succedette ad Augusto alla sua morte come secondo imperatore romano. Da Augusto, cercò di mantenere la stabilità e la prosperità dell'Impero romano. Attuò riforme amministrative e si concentrò sul mantenimento di un esercito romano forte e disciplinato. Tuttavia, il suo regno fu segnato da controversie e intrighi politici. Era noto il suo sospetto nei confronti del Senato e la sua distanza dal popolo. I suoi rapporti con il Senato e con l'élite al potere furono spesso tesi, con conseguenti accuse di tirannia e repressione. Negli ultimi anni del suo regno, si ritirò nell'isola di Capri, lasciando ad altri l'amministrazione dell'impero. Il suo allontanamento da Roma portò a ulteriori critiche e dicerie sul suo comportamento e le sue intenzioni. Morì nel 37 d.C. e gli succedette il nipote Caligola. Nonostante i successi come leader militare, la valutazione del suo operato non è unanime, alcuni lo considerano un governante capace, altri criticano le sue tendenze autocratiche e l'atmosfera di paura e sospetto che si respirava durante il suo regno.
(3) PONTIF MAXIM TRIBVN POTEST XXIIII (PONTIFex MAXIMus TRiBVNicia POTEState XXIIII - Pontefice Massimo, investito per la 24^ volta dei poteri di tribuno]. Dal numero della Potestà Tribunizia discende la datazione della moneta (22-23 d. C.).
(4) S•C (Senatus Consulto, per decreto del Senato). Tra le novità introdotte da Augusto nella monetazione è da ricordare il conferimento al Senato della responsabilità delle emissioni monetali in bronzo; ogni emissione ènea riportava perciò sul rovescio la sigla SC. La monetazione in oro e argento, che era priva della sigla SC, rientrava nella competenza diretta dell'imperatore.
