Buonasera, mi perdoni se la disturbo, mi chiamo Mattia e sono ligure, ho 20 anni e nel tempo libero colleziono monete.... ho notato navigando sul web sul sito http://www.forumancientcoins.com che lei effettua consulenza numismatica gratuita e volevo sottoporle un chiarimento riguardo la moneta di cui le allego la foto del dritto e del rovescio, questa moneta romana è da ritenersi autentica in quanto già sottoposta a stima numismatica intorno all'anno 1999 da parte di un esperto... la moneta apparteneva a mio nonno e recentemente l'ha regalata a me... gliela propongo con lo scopo di sapere, se è in grado di darmi delucidazioni, quanto può valere oggi, nelle condizioni in cui versa... la vecchia stima a cui venne sottoposta si aggirava intorno ai 2.000.000 di £ /2.500.000 ...(mi pare di ricordare....magari mi sbaglio...) mi interesserebbe sapere ora quanto può valere... da quanto mi è stato riferito è molto rara... le fornisco i dati salienti: 
ignoro l'asse, il peso è 7g. circa e il diametro di circa 28 mm... approssimativamente in quanto non dispongo di attrezzatura precisa... della precedente stima non ho nulla di certificato in quanto venne fatta "di cortesia"....

Moneta ferromagnetica. Da sommarie informazioni sul web ho notato che è riferibile al terzo consolato di Vespasiano, intorno al 71 d.C. se può essermi di aiuto, la prego di ricontattarmi....la ringrazio anticipatamente... Autorizzo l'uso incondizionato delle foto e delle immagini inviate.

Buongiorno, sono uno studente universitario al primo anno, mentre scavavo nel giardino della mia ragazza per posizionare una piscina esterna ho trovato la moneta rappresentata nell'allegato. Volevo sapere se poteva trattarsi di una moneta Vespasiana del 71 d.C. originale o se un'imitazione. Inoltre mi potrebbe dire anche il valore stimato? Grazie. Attendo un suo riscontro.

Egregio Lettore,
mi complimento innanzi tutto con lei per la qualità delle foto e per aver risposto al quesito circa la ferromagneticità del tondello (non tutti i lettori sono disposti a collaborare). In assoluto questa è la prima moneta di cui mi sono occupato una dozzina di anni fa quando ho aperto il sito internet (v. link). In considerazione delle informazioni oggi disponibili, riprendo il tema, senza modificare le conclusioni. Di seguito riporto i dati significativi che mi è stato possibile raccogliere:

Concludo osservando che, non solo le caratteristiche fisiche della moneta di figura si discostano in modo significativo da quelle dei conî d'epoca, ma alcuni particolari appaiono incoerenti, per esempio la leggenda del dritto recita "...TR I..." invece che "...TR P...." oppure il busto di Roma nel rovescio appare un po' sottile. Non essendo autentica, la moneta è priva di valore numismatico. Non me ne sfugge tuttavia l'utilità didattica. La moneta è parte di una serie di riconî moderni (v. link) che negli anni 70 dello scorso secolo accompagnava le confezioni della cioccolata CARRARMATO della Perugina. Se mi posso permettere e senza offesa, visto che anch'io sono nonno, ... non dia un dispiacere al mio pari grado che, in assoluta buona fede, le ha fatto un dono che valeva un tesoro!

Si evince dalla tabella che le caratteristiche fisiche della moneta in esame (7g, 28mm) differiscono in modo sostanziale da quelle dei conî d'epoca. Il peso sarebbe scarso anche nel caso avessimo a che fare con  un asse (peso intorno ai 10g), per altro mai  battuto nella tipologia in esame. Inoltre le moneta originali, i cui link ho sopra riportati, erano di bronzo (lega di rame con piccole quantità di piombo e zinco), al contrario della moneta in esame in lega ferromagnetica.
(2) La presenza di un globetto all'apice del busto indica che la moneta fu battuta dalla zecca di Lugdunum.z
(3) Il 71 è l'anno del terzo consolato di Vespasiano.
(4) IMPerator CAESar VESPASIANus AVGustus Pontifex Maximus TRibunicia Potestate Pater Patriae COnSul III (Imperatore, Cesare, Vespasiano, Augusto, Pontefice Massimo, Tribuno, Padre della Patria, Console per la 3^ volta).
(5) La dea Roma che porge la Vittoria celebra le conquiste dell'esercito romano e l'impero pacificato (Pax Romana!).
(6) S. C. (Senatus Consulto, "per decreto del Senato") era la consueta sigla apposta sui nominali in bronzo romani (sesterzi, dupondi e assi) ad indicare la competenza esclusiva del Senato Romano nelle decisioni attinenti alle emissioni di queste monete (la monetazione in oro e in argento, che non riporta la sigla, rientrava invece nelle competenze dirette dell'imperatore).
